A Chop Service
What is a chop service?
Our chop service provides you with the easy way to purchase picture frame mouldings.
Lengths of picture framing are pre-cut to sizes of your choice. |
 |
| They are then slotted at the mitre so you can join your frame with a special wedge which is provided.
The chopped frame is then dispatched to you.

Hard to find bits and pieces
Fix-a-Frame has an extensive range of "nik-naks".
All those things that picture framers keep to themselves, like... "D rings", "V nails", turnbuttons, felt bumpers, push points...in fact just about every little fitting or accessory available.
Have a look in the sundries section of our online shop.
Picture Framing Equipment
You will find all that you need for do it yourself picture framing in our equipment order section
If you require professional production equipment please contact us or have a look at our favourite links to find equipment wholesalers.
Free Use Of The Fix-a-Frame Workshop
You are able to use our workshop (including equipment) for FREE if:
You have attended one of our classes or
You have attended a registered TAFE framing class
We are offering this service to provide you with do it yourself services without the need for you to purchase equipment.
If you use this service you should be aware that it does not include free consultation...if you need consultation you will be charged at our custom framing rate of $60.00 per hour.
Our advice is the difference between do it yourself and custom picture framing.
For all our instore clients we have a $5.00 cut and join service. All you do is select a moulding and we will cut and join the moulding of your choice for $5.00 per frame plus the length quantity that is used.
Fix-a-Frame is most concerned about the preservation of memorabilia and artworks.
It is our belief that it is better to educate and support the hobby picture framer to the extent that they become knowledgeable in the art of framing. Have a look at what can happen if you frame your pictures poorly.
Successful hobby and professional framers are ones who care about what they are doing rather than just profiting from their craft. I hope that you will become a proficient framer and I hope that we can establish long term relationships with you and the craft.
