Rule Change Proposals

As proposals are put to the organisers they will be posted here for consideration.

Comments in response will be posted here as they are made.

6/6/1999

Bruce Carter, President of the BAA, has proposed that in any team event that all throwers are able to compete with the top four scores counting. This would be non-compulsory but would allow more team member participation by throwers who are not the strongest in the event but desire to throw.

This would have impact on the area of Accuracy, Australian round, Trick Catch Doubling and Team MTA.

The Team Relay, Team Super Catch, Team Endurance would be unaffected.

Comments on this proposal can be directed to either:

Rob Croll or David Schummy

The rules are available here.

The emphasis will be on having a smooth fun tournament. Similar rules will apply as previous world cups. The two competitors throwing within 5 seconds during Aussie Round and Accuracy will be maintained.

It is envisaged that up to five Aussie Round Circles may be possible given the size of the grounds.

A rule book will be published and made available for comment by the 30th November 1999.

Tuesday will be scheduled as a rain day with the Individual Tournaments starting on Thursday. The grounds are used for cricket matches from 1pm on Saturdays. It is important that we vacate the grounds fully by 12pm on Saturday 12th February. It will be possible to utilise the grounds on the Sunday for demonstrations, completions of individual events or Long Distance.

A separate Long Distance Tournament is scheduled for Tuesday 8th February commencing at 10.00 am. Two round will be contested comprising of five throws each round. Competitors must qualify in the First round to enable entry to the second round. If Tuesday is used as a rain delay then the event may be shifted to Saturday AM or Sunday AM time permitting.
